1980 CHRYSLER VALIANT CM REGAL SEDAN .Are you the 2nd Owner? I’m the third owner of this vehicle since new. Having personally known the previous owner I know the vehicles full history which I’ll happily provide to the new owner along with all receipts, history of work done and servicing records. Does the Valiant have any issues I need to know about like are there any problems with rust/engine overheats/excessive oil consumption etc?And would it be mechanically sound enough to drive from say Adelaide to Melbourne? It has a small bubble of rust forming under the vinyl in the bottom right hand corner of the rear window and some paint pitting& stone chips in the quarters behind the rear wheels. Plenum, boot, floor, roof, front clip, all 4 doors and the chassis is rust free and solid. It has no engine overheating problems at all. The engine doesn’t burn any oil not even at start-up where a ‘puff’ or ‘cloud’ of blue smoke often indicates worn valve stem seals. Oil consumption is what I’d call completely normal requiring a top up pint every 3 or so months if it is driven on a daily basis. The rear passenger right hand side window winder seems to have jammed recently-I think all that it requires is a lube job to free up the sticking winder mechanism. It will require a fresh set of tires at some point in the not too distant future with the set that’s on it being about 65% worn.
